The stage is set for the semifinals of the 2025/26 Ghana Women’s FA Cup, with four Southern Zone giants battling for a place in the final following an exciting quarterfinal round played on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

The last eight matches produced thrilling encounters as Army Ladies thrashed Tamale Super Ladies 4-0, while Hasaacas Ladies edged Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-1. Samartex Ladies progressed after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory over FC Savannah following a 1-1 draw, and Jonina Ladies also advanced via penalties, beating Supreme Ladies 5-4 after a 2-2 stalemate.

For the second consecutive season, all semifinalists hail from the Southern Zone, underlining the region’s dominance in the competition. Last season’s last four featured Faith Ladies, Jonina Ladies, Rootz Sistaz, and Hasaacas Ladies, with Faith Ladies eventually lifting the trophy.

The 2025/26 semifinals, scheduled between March 20 and 23, promise high-intensity battles as Army Ladies face Samartex Ladies, while Jonina Ladies take on Hasaacas Ladies.

    Samartex Ladies vs Army Ladies

Samartex Ladies will be aiming to reach their first-ever FA Cup final as they continue their impressive run. The club has never won the competition and endured a difficult start in the 2024/25 season, suffering a 3-1 defeat to Hasaacas Ladies in the Round of 64. However, this season has seen significant growth and resilience.

Interestingly, both Samartex and Army navigated their early rounds against Division One opponents before overcoming Northern Zone Premier League sides in the quarterfinals. Their recent league meetings further add intrigue to the clash. Army Ladies secured a narrow 1-0 away victory earlier in the season, while their most recent encounter ended in a goalless draw.

Army Ladies enter the semifinal in strong form. The 2023/24 FA Cup champions are currently second in the Women’s Premier League, level on points with the leaders. After winning their first-ever FA Cup title in 2024 with a 1-0 triumph over Police Ladies, Army will be determined to return to the final following last season’s early exit on penalties.

    Jonina Ladies vs Hasaacas Ladies

The second semifinal pits last season’s finalists Jonina Ladies against experienced campaigners Hasaacas Ladies in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.

Jonina Ladies will be eager to go one step further after narrowly losing 2-1 to Faith Ladies in the 2024/25 final. The club has never won the FA Cup but will draw confidence from their impressive form this season. However, their route to the semifinals has seen them face only Division One opposition in all four rounds.

Their head-to-head record against Hasaacas this season adds extra excitement. Jonina secured a 1-0 away win earlier in the Women’s Premier League campaign, while their most recent meeting ended in a 1-1 draw.

Hasaacas Ladies, meanwhile, bring experience and pedigree into the contest. Former FA Cup champions in the 2021/22 season, they reached the semifinals last year but were eliminated 1-0 by eventual winners Faith Ladies. This season, they have impressed by defeating Premier League side Epiphany Warriors 3-0 in the Round of 16 before knocking out Northern Zone leaders Ampem Darkoa 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

Currently leading the Southern Zone league standings, Hasaacas will be aiming to combine their domestic dominance with another FA Cup triumph.

With history, rivalry, and ambition on the line, the semifinals of the 2025/26 Ghana Women’s FA Cup promise captivating football and intense competition as the four Southern heavyweights battle for glory.
