Armed robbers attacked Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities on their way back from an away game against FC Samartex on Wednesday night.

The club released a statement on Thursday morning stating that the players and coaches were robbed of their phones, laptops, and money. Only one player sustained a physical injury.

Legon Cities lost 3-0 to FC Samartex in the Matchweek eight of the Ghana Premier League and were on their way to Accra when they were attacked on the Bibiani-Kumasi highway.
