    Ghana Premier League: Match Week 12 Preview

    After almost a week and a half without the league, making way for the MTN FA Cup, it resumes across the various league centres. Clubs are poised to challenge for honors, Coaches will bring their technical brains to bare as supporters will cheer on their clubs to victories.



    To start with, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are outside the top four, something they are not familiar. Chairman Kyei and other key stakeholders held crunch meetings to redefine the directions of the club. The club are currently occupying the fifth position with 18 points whiles Bechem United are a point and a position less to that of their competition. Both setups lock horns, having played thirteen times, Red Devils dominant of the two, winning eight, the away side, two and the remaining ending in a draw. The match will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium as the Baba Yara undergoes a facelift for the independence day celebrations.

    Asante Kotoko 2 – 1 Bechem United

    Berekum Chelsea lost back to back matches to, Elmina Sharks, Inter Allies before picking an away win to Great Olympics to boast their chances to third with 20 points. Bottom placed King Faisal, have amassed 5 points from 30 points, shipping as many as twenty-three goals and scoring ten in the process. The pair have clashed six times, the home side have won three, the away side one and the other ending in a draw. The Dade boys will need to start sorting their form guide out entering into the next round of matches since relegation stares them in the face.

    Prediction

    Berekum Chelsea 2 – 0 King Faisal




    Currently lying 11th on the league log in the ongoing campaign is Dawu based, Dreams F.C managed by former Ghana Premier League winner, Bashiru Hayford. His side have notched 14 points in the league, their form guide has been wavy in the last five games (LDLWL), picking four from just fifteen points. They face resolute Ogya boys, sitting second (2nd) on the table with 20 points. The Dorma based side, are not the best of travelers picking four points in the last five games.

    Dreams F.C – Aduana Stars

     

    The Sogakope Red Bull Arena will see home favorite, WAFA welcome current table toppers, Ashanti Gold to their fortress. Both sides have met seven times, the away side winning three, the home side basking two with the others finishing in a draw. AshGold, have only lost once, Medeama, picking six from 15 points. The Academy setup have not been at their level best picking just a win in the last five games. (DDLDW). They will need to find a way past the league leaders, who have conceded two in eleven games.

    WAFA 1 – 1 AshGold

     

    Ebusua Dwarfs are battling relegation,16th on the log with 10 points in the domestic league, facing off with mid-table side Inter Allies, who have picked vital wins to Eleven Wonders and Berekum Chelsea buoyed by the sensational Victorien Adebayor netting eleven in ten matches. The home side have won three of the last four encounters with the other ending in a draw. Additionally, the Crabs have won the last three home games which should motivate them against Inter Allies, winning the last two games on their travels.

    Prediction

    Ebusua Dwarfs 2 – 1 Inter Allies  




    The Accra Sports Stadium will play host to Accra Hearts of Oak and Elmina Sharks. The two sides have won two of the last five battles with the other finishing in a draw. The Phobia boys occupy the 9th spot with 16 points, taking 9 points from their last five games, whiles Sharks have notched 10 points in five. Three wins in five have boasted the side up to the 7th   position on the log. Both sides will be motivated to get the three maximum points when they meet.

    Hearts of Oak 2- 1 Elmina Sharks

     

    Liberty Professionals and Karela United will come up against each other in week twelve of the domestic league. These two sides are not having the best of seasons. The home side, are thirteenth with thirteen points, averaging one point per game, which is not the best per standards at the club whiles Karela United battling relegation with a host of other clubs have picked 10 points from 11 matches so far. Both have a history of playing three matches with each winning one and one draw.

    Prediction

    Liberty Professionals 2- 1 Karela United

     

    Riche – nouve set-up Legon Cities have picked 12 points sitting 14th on the log in the domestic league thus far, whiles Eleven Wonders are twelve with 14 points. The last three encounters have ended in two wins for the home side with the away side winning the other one. These two sides will battle hard for the three points knowing very well that three points are up for grabs.

    Legon Cities 1 – 1 Eleven Wonders  




    Elsewhere, Tarkwa based Medeama S.C will play host to Accra Great Olympics at the Akoon Community Park. Samuel Badu’s men are eyeing the most coveted league the first in the history of the club, they haven’t disappointed so far, lying 4th on the log with 20 points to that of Olympics,15th with 11 points on the log. The two Ghana Premier League clubs have clashed before, the home side have won two of the four duels with Olympics winning only one. The away side will have to be wary of Prince Opoku Agyemang who is in the form of his life, scoring eight in 11 games so far.
