Ghana Football Association accepts coach Laryea Kingston’s shocking resignation

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has accepted Laryea Kingston’s resignation as head coach of the U17 national team following their loss to Burkina Faso in the WAFU Zone B Championship.

The GFA condemns Kingston’s behavior of  not attending the team’s scheduled meeting with the management committee and did not return to the team hotel after the defeat against Burkina Faso.

The GFA has indicated that, Laryea will not be leading the Black Starlets in their third-place playoff match against Nigeria on Tuesday.

In Kingston’s absence, the assistant coaches, with support from the GFA’s technical director, will manage the team for the upcoming match.

While the association appreciates Kingston’s contributions, it prioritizes maintaining a disciplined and respectful environment within its teams.

The GFA remains committed to supporting its players and staff in achieving excellence both on and off the field.
