Ghana coach Chirs Hughton believes Ghana were the better team but  conceded a poor goal which led to the defeat.

The Black Stars squandered an opportunity to lead Group I as they suffered a defeat in Moroni.

The crucial moment unfolded in the 43rd minute when Myziane Maolida seized a solo chance, receiving the ball from the midfield and netting.

In the post-match analysis, Hughton expressed his displeasure at the defensive lapse that resulted in the decisive goal.

“I thought Ghana were the better team,” Hughton stated, affirming his belief in the team’s overall performance. However, his frustration was evident as he criticized the conceded goal, deeming it a missed chance to maintain control of the game.

“We conceded what we regarded as a poor goal to concede, and we were not able to capitalize on the chances that we had,” Hughton remarked, highlighting the team’s inability to convert scoring opportunities.

Following the defeat, the Black Stars hold three points after two rounds, with Comoros rising to the top of the group with four points from two matches.
