GFA reveals increased prize money and extended rewards for top teams in the Ghana premier league.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a proactive measure to enhance the thrill and rivalry in the upcoming season of the Premier League by raising the prize money granted to the champions.

The revised prize distribution structure was disclosed during the launch event of the 2023/24 season held on Tuesday.

The previous winners, Medeama, received a reward of 300,000 Ghana cedis ($26,320) in the last season.

However, the upcoming victors of the league will now receive an increased sum of 500,000 Ghana cedis ($43,868), signifying a notable percentage rise.

Apart from augmenting the incentives for the winners, the GFA has expanded its acknowledgement to encompass the teams achieving different rankings in the league table.

Kurt Okraku, the President of the GFA, elucidated on this choice by stating, “In order to elevate the competitiveness of the league, the Ghana Football Association will provide rewards ranging from the first to the tenth position in the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League.”

The league will commence on the 15th of September, 2023.
