Sports journalist Fortune Adza, a female writer for SaharaFootball.net, participated in the FEMITECH Conference 2026, held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) auditorium in Accra. The conference, organized by Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) as part of celebrations marking International Women’s Day, was held under the theme “Give to Gain.”

Fortune Adza attended the event in the name of SaharaFootball.net, reflecting the platform’s commitment to promoting women and supporting female voices in sports journalism. Since joining Sahara Football in December 2025, Adza has produced numerous stories highlighting women’s football, including coverage of the ongoing FIFA U-15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues. She has also contributed to coverage of the men’s game, including reports on the recently concluded 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Morocco.

The conference opened with a welcome address by Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, Director-General of GI-KACE. It featured insightful presentations from key industry leaders including Jada Badu, CEO of Uber Ghana, who spoke on “Leadership Without Labels,” and Etta Mosore, Deputy Director-General of the National Communications Authority (Ghana), who delivered a presentation on “From Code to Compliance.”

Another presentation was delivered by Margaret Ansei, CEO of the Ghana Enterprises Agency, on the topic “Skills, Startups, and Sustainability.” The keynote address was given by Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Ghana’s Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, who encouraged women to pursue opportunities based on competence rather than gender.

The event brought together female students from institutions including University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC), Accra Technical University, and Valley View University, as well as women from security services such as the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Armed Forces.

For Fortune Adza, the conference served as a source of inspiration and motivation in her work as a sports journalist. Her participation reflects the growing role of women in sports media and reinforces SaharaFootball.net’s dedication to amplifying women’s achievements both on and off the field.
