FC Basel have completed the signing of Ghana U-20 midfielder Emmanuel Essiam on a long-term contract.

The club in the last few weeks stepped up its pursuit of the talented midfielder and has now announced a permanent deal to secure him for four years.

“Welcome to FCB, Sali Emmanuel! He is only 18 years old but already has the skills of a seasoned player. His role model on the pitch is Paul Pogba, and that’s exactly how Emmanuel Essiam wants to appear: With an overview, his athleticism and a good dose of callousness, he should help pull the strings in the FCB game from the central midfield in the near future.

“Emmanuel signed a long-term contract with Rotblau until the summer of 2026,”

FC Basel announced on Monday, January 3, 2021.

The midfielder  has joined the Swedish Giants, from Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea FC.

He is currently a key member of the Ghana U-20 team and has been tipped to develop into a top player in the near future.
