Ghana’s Fatawu Issahaku named in Championship Team of the Week

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku made a triumphant return from suspension, showcasing a stellar performance as Leicester City dominated Stoke City in the English Championship over the weekend.

Issahaku, who was sidelined for the past three Championship fixtures, played a pivotal role for the Foxes by providing the assist for the opening goal in their commanding 5-0 victory at the King Power Stadium.

The 19-year-old demonstrated his impact by delivering four crucial key passes and executing three impressive tackles, earning him recognition as the standout performer and securing a spot in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week.

Joining Issahaku in the Team of the Week are Leicester City teammate Wout Faes, as well as Josh Koroma, Ben Wiles, and Jonathan Hogg from Huddersfield Town.

Additionally, Cardiff City’s Jak Alnwnk, Ipswich’s Kieffer Moore, and Preston’s Will Keane, along with Norwich’s Josh Sargent, complete the lineup.

Issahaku, who has been featured in the Team of the Week multiple times since joining Leicester City, has been instrumental in the team’s success.

With his remarkable displays, Leicester City is considering making his loan deal permanent at the conclusion of the season.

Despite missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Issahaku continues to impress, further solidifying his status as a rising talent in the football world.
