The Head of CAF Media Relations and Operations, Lux September has refuted reports suggesting that the 2021 AFCON tournament is on the brink of cancellation/postponement.

News of AFCON cancellation circulated European media spaces on Wednesday morning as many believed that CAN could announce the cancellation of the tournament due to the rising cases of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Lux September responded to the news by labelling them “fake” and “false”.

    Of course these are LIES…..
There has not been a single meeting where this was discussed.

But we all know the source of misinformation from some “lobby” groups.
They always undermine Africa…. We know them. https://t.co/jmdd2Z37hM
