Nigerian coach Paul Aigbogun will not be the next manager of Accra Hearts of Oak after talks between both parties broke down, Sahara Football understands.

The former Nigeria U20 coach and Nigeria national team Deputy Technical Director will not be joining Hearts of Oak after turning down “the good” offer.

Hearts of Oak have been in talks with Paul Aigbogun to be the club’s new Head Coach following the departure of Slavko Matic, and interim coach David Ocloo.

Sahara Football understands the coach was tempted to join Hearts after receiving a lucrative offer from the club but decided not to accept the offer due to his commitments in Denmark and Nigeria.

Paul Aigbogun is currently Head of Scouting at Lagos-based club Sporting Lagos and was key in helping the club owner Sola Akindele acquire Danish club Aarhus Fremad early this year.

Aigbogun is committed to the project at Sporting Lagos and it’s sister club in Denmark, and has decided to turn down the offer from Hearts of Oak.

Hearts of Oak will continue their search for a new Head Coach ahead of the upcoming season.
