Ghana Black Stars goalkeeper Joe Wollacott has joined League One club Charlton Athletic FC on a free transfer after ending his stay at Swindon Town FC.

The talented goal stopper signed a three-year contract with his new club on Thursday after his contract with his former club came to an end.

Wollacott left the Black Stars squad after their first AFCON Qualifiers game against Madagascar due to illness, he also missed the Kirin Cup as he traveled back to London to recover from the illness.

Sahara Football understands the player rejected a contract renewal proposal at Swindon Town as he was looking for a new challenge and advancement in his career.

Jojo Wollacott was instrumental in Ghana’s World Cup Qualification journey and has cemented his position as the number one goalkeeper for Ghana Black Stars.
