Ghana Black Stars goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after fracturing his index finger in a pre-game warmup on Saturday night when Charlton Athletic faced Burton.
Doctors from the national team and the player’s representatives were waiting for scan results last night, the results came out a few hours later indicating the player has fractured his finger which would mean he will be out for a few weeks thereby jeopardizing his plans to play in the 2022 World Cup.
Jojo Wollacott who helped Ghana beat Nigeria in the qualifiers will not be on the plane to Qatar with his national teammates.
Sahara Football understands that the player was willing to play through the pain but was advised to risk it and make the situation worse.
Otto Addo will have to look at other options ahead of the final squad announcement event tomorrow before the entire team leaves for Qatar.
