    Ex Ghana trainer,Herve Renard leads Saudi Arabia to victory over Argentina


    Renard worked with ex Ghana coach Claude LeRoy during his time with the Black Stars in 2008.

    He masterminded a historic victory for the people of Saudi Arabia in their World Cup group opener.

    Argentina took the lead through  Messi from a spot kick after a controversial penalty was awarded.

    Messi was on the scoresheet again but VAR ruled it out for offside.

    Saleh Alshehri  tied the game with a great  strike. Soon after, Salem Al Dawsari doubled Saudi’s lead with a brilliant curler.

    The match ended 2-1 in favour of Saudi Arabia.

    Speaking after the game, Renard said: “Congratulations to the team and the staff for this game, I dedicate this victory to the Saudi people. We are waiting for your support next match!,”

    Renard is known for his great coaching in Africa after winning the Nations Cup with Zambia and Ivory Coast.
