    Didier Drogba files for Presidential candidature

    Former Ivorian captain Didier Drogba has officially submitted his bid to become the next president of the Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF).




    Drogba since his retirement from the game has openly disclosed ambitions to contest the seat for the top job of the federation.

    On various platforms, he has been seen canvassing for votes for the elections which is scheduled for next month in his home country. .

    He together with the other three people will go through nomination procedures in efforts to steer the federation in the right direction.

    In an interview with local media, the former Ivorian international expressed optimism about the turn of events, where supporters gathered at the headquarters in support of his candidature.

    “Football is everyone’s sport, football brings people together, football unites. We can see it today with all these people gathered in front of the headquarters of the Ivorian football federation,” he opined.

    Drogba will be hoping to help Ivory Coast regain it’s status on the African terrain as a powerhouse once the delegates vote in his favor to become President of the Federation.
