Ghana Black Stars Head coach CK Akonnor was asked why Mohammed Salisu was not called up again to the Black Stars squad for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers game against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Mohammed Salisu has rejected several opportunities to play for Ghana as he believes his focus should be on his new club Southampton at the moment.

“With Salisu, you need to check; the other day he said when he is ready, he will let us know” CK Akonnor said.

” I don’t know, maybe. He said when he is ready, and up till now, I don’t know if he is ready or not. So I won’t be able to answer that” he added.

Mohammed Salisu played a number of games for Southampton in England, it is believed he will have a huge part to play this season at his club following the departure of Jannik Vestergaard.
