Chelsea legend Mikel Obi seals move to Tranzobspor

Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has signed a two-year deal with Turkish side Trabzonspor. He’s set to earn €1.5m per season. Ogenyi Onazi also plays for Trabzonspor.

Nigeria Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has joined Turkey’s side, Trabzonspor according to reports.

Mikel has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third-year, reports say.

The Nigerian star has been without a club since he left Middleborough at the end of the season after a 6-month stint.

Despite a great time at the club, Mikel had said he was not going to renew his Middleborough’s contract as he was weighing his options.

The Super Eagles captain is currently on national duty in the ongoing African Cup of Nations as he and his team await who they play in the next round of the tournament after progressing from the group stage.
