    Caleb Ekuban scores again as Ghana beat Mauritania in Accra


    Ghana Black Stars signed off their international duties with a 3-1 win against Mauritania at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, thanks to goals from Kwesi Appiah, Caleb Ekuban and Thomas Partey.

    The friendly was scheduled after their last AFCON qualifiers game against Kenya, Mauritania flew to Accra to play the Black Stars as part of the preparations for their first ever Africa Cup of Nations.



    Kwesi Appiah opened the scoring for Ghana three minutes into the game with a perfectly placed penalty kick to put his team in front.

    Adama Ba Equalized for Mauritania just a few minutes into the second half with a beautiful free kick from the edge of the box.

    Caleb Ekuban put Ghana back in front with a fine header in the 70th minute, that was his second goal in two games for Ghana.


    Thomas Partey sealed the victory with an audacious strike to the rooftop just two munites after Ekuban’s goal to put Ghana in a commanding position.
