Caleb Amakwah’s acrobatic goal not enough to qualify struggling Hearts of Oak to next stage of CAF Confederations Cup.\

Accra Hearts of Oak were eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup after failing to over a 3-0 scoreline against As Real Bamako.

Unfortunately, a 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium was not enough to see the current FA Cup leaders through to the next stage of the CAF Confederations cup.

As Real Bamako are through to the next round of the competition with a 3-1 aggregate win over  Accra Hearts of Oak.

The only goal of the game came around the 89th minute from Caleb Amankwah who acrobatically finished a fantastic cross from Obeng Jr.

Hearts came into the game looking to overturn a 3 -0 defeat suffered in the first leg in Mali. The team struggled to create chances till the last quarter of the game.

Js Saouraof Algeria eliminated Hearts last season after failing to reach the second round of the Confederations Cup.

The club is still without a head coach after terminating the contract of Samuel Boadu prior to the start of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Assistant coach, David Ocloo expressed his disappointments after the game but remains positive the team will come back stronger.
