Cabfix Ladies FC of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Women’s Division One League have intensified their support for female footballers across the country after receiving a major donation of sanitary products under the government’s period free policy.
The club recently received 100 boxes of Softcare sanitary pads, which were presented to the team to promote menstrual hygiene and support the welfare of young female athletes. In a remarkable show of leadership and solidarity, Cabfix Ladies extended the donation to other teams, ensuring that players beyond their club also benefited.
As part of the initiative, several teams competing in the FIFA U15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues in both the Greater Accra and Eastern Regions received sanitary pads. The support was later expanded to include teams in the Northern and Upper West Regions, highlighting the club’s commitment to empowering girls through football and health awareness.
In addition, all clubs in the GARFA Women’s Division One League also benefited from the distribution exercise, which has been widely praised as a significant step toward improving player welfare and encouraging greater participation of young girls in football.
Following the successful outreach, an additional 200 boxes of sanitary pads have now been presented to Cabfix Ladies to further extend the initiative to other regions across Ghana. The latest support is expected to reach more female footballers at the grassroots and elite levels, reinforcing efforts to break barriers and address menstrual health challenges that often affect girls’ involvement in sports.
The donation forms part of broader efforts to promote gender equality, improve player welfare, and strengthen women’s football development nationwide. Cabfix Ladies have reaffirmed their commitment to using football as a platform to impact lives, inspire young girls, and support the long-term growth of the women’s game across the country.
