After 16 years away from the top flight, Bofoakwa Tano have made a triumphant comeback to the Ghana Premier League.

In a tense playoff match held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, Bofoakwa overcame Techiman Eleven Wonders to secure their promotion.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time, leading to an exhilarating penalty shootout.

Bofoakwa emerged as the victors, triumphing 7-6 in the shootout and securing their well-deserved place in the prestigious Ghana Premier League.

Bofoakwa wasted no time in taking the lead, with Leslie Aryeetey converting a penalty within the first seven minutes of the game.

However, Techiman Eleven Wonders, a team with considerable Premier League experience in recent seasons, managed to equalize through a goal from Osman Zackaria.

Despite the efforts of both teams, no winning goal could be found in the remaining time, forcing the match to be decided by penalties.

Bofoakwa maintained their composure and emerged as the winners in the shootout, finally securing their long-awaited return to the Ghana Premier League.

The remarkable achievement by Bofoakwa Tano marks the end of their arduous journey outside the top flight.

Bofoakwa have qualified together with Heart of Lions and Nations FC for the upcoming season’s Ghana Premier League campaign.
