Karela United winger Bless Ege has secured a January transfer-window loan move to Mexican top-flight side Querétaro FC, marking a major step forward in his fast-rising career.

Ege only joined Karela United at the start of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, but wasted little time making an impression. In 16 league appearances, the winger found the net four times, all from the penalty spot, performances that helped accelerate interest in his services beyond Ghana’s borders.

His growing reputation can be traced to the previous season, where he was a standout performer for Golden Kick FC during their memorable run to the MTN FA Cup final. That campaign saw him emerge as one of the most sought-after domestic talents, drawing attention from several top Ghanaian clubs before his eventual move to Karela United.

Reflecting on his development in an interview with GFA statistician Mohammed Shaban, Ege described the Ghana Premier League as more demanding than Division One football and pointed to personal highlights, including scoring twice against Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara; once in the MTN FA Cup and again in the Ghana Premier League.

The winger now joins Querétaro FC, who ended the Liga MX Apertura season in 12th place with 20 points. Liga MX, officially known as Liga BBVA MX, is Mexico’s top professional league, featuring 18 clubs and contested in two tournaments each season; Apertura and Clausura. The Clausura season begins on Saturday, January 10, with Querétaro scheduled to face Pumas UNAM on Sunday, January 11.

On the international front, Ege continues to nurture ambitions of breaking into the Black Stars, having already represented Ghana at youth level with the Black Satellites. He made his mark at the 2025 WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations, scoring the decisive goal in a 1–0 victory over Benin in July 2025.

The winger expressed gratitude to his management team and AZ Sports Management for facilitating the move, as he prepares to test himself in one of CONCACAF’s most competitive leagues.
