    Ghana’s Black Queens faced a 0-2 defeat to the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in a friendly match in Rabat on Tuesday night.

    Rosella Ayane who plays for Tottenham Hotspurs put her side in the lead in the 48th minute when she struck past  Fafali Dumehasi she affirmed their victory with a 78th-minute strike at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.

    Lady Strikers Suzzy Dede Teye, had two glorious chances to find the net in the early stages of the game and 80th minutes but shot wide. Martha Appiah who had an impressive debut in the left-back role was sent out in the 57th minute for Ellen Coleman, who did not live up to expectation.



    Queens Coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo made another two substitutions in the second half, to enforce her wings and attack by introducing Grace Animah and Veronica Appiah for Philomena Abakah and Vivian Konadu Adjei respectively.

    According to Black Queens Coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo, Ghana is using this international friendly to prepare for the 2023 African Games to be hosted in Accra.

    The Queens have been holding training sessions in Rabat after departing on Sunday with a 21-man squad, they will play same Morocco side on Thursday.
