Bibiani Goldstars part ways with head coach Michael Osei

Bibiani Goldstars have officially announced the immediate departure of head coach Michael Osei, as revealed on Wednesday.

The decision comes as the club finds itself positioned in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League after 13 rounds of play.

Goldstars have faced a challenging streak, going without a win in nine matches, including a recent 2-1 home loss to Nsoatreman FC.

With three defeats and six draws during this period, the team is currently in 17th place with 12 points. Osei, who had been in charge since the club’s promotion to the top-flight in the 2021-22 season, has been relieved of his duties.

In their debut season, Goldstars secured a commendable 9th place finish, followed by a notable 5th place finish in the subsequent season, accumulating 49 points in 34 matches.

Despite setting a target of finishing within the top four positions in the current campaign and reinforcing their squad with experienced players, the team’s performances have fallen short of expectations.

The management, therefore, decided to reassess the situation and part ways with Osei for the remainder of the season.
