Bernard Tekpetey wins Bulgarian League to complete ‘double’ with Ludogorets

Ghanaian striker Bernard Tekpetey has achieved a remarkable feat with PFC Ludogorets Razgrad by securing a double after winning the Bulgarian Parva Liga title for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday.

In a hard-fought final match of the campaign, Ludogorets emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win over Cherno More, securing their 12th Bulgarian championship in the club’s history.

This victory also marked Ludogorets’ unprecedented 12th consecutive Bulgarian league title.

The only goal of the match was scored by Argentinian forward Matias Tissera, who found the back of the net five minutes into the second half.

Bernard Tekpetey was brought into the game in the 85th minute, replacing Kirin Despodov, the Bulgarian international midfielder.

Throughout the season, the 25-year-old Ghanaian made a total of 27 appearances for Ludogorets in the Bulgarian top-flight, showcasing his skills with 8 goals and 5 assists.

With a total of 85 points accumulated from 35 matches, Ludogorets finished the season as champions, demonstrating their dominance on the field by scoring 81 goals while conceding only 27.

Adding to their accomplishments, the Eagles recently lifted the Bulgarian Cup trophy by defeating CSKA 1948 Sofia in the final, further solidifying their successful campaign.
