Asante Kotoko coach Mariano Barreto has commented on Emmanuel Gyamfi’s ‘misconducted charges’ by the Disciplinary Committee.

Emmanuel Gyamfi is to appear before the disciplinary committee on Tuesday 29th of June on charges of misconduct after he appeared to have intentionally stepped on a player in Kotoko’s game against Inter Allies.

Mariano Barreto was asked if Emmanuel Gyamfi will be punished by the club for his conduct; possibly losing his captaincy at the club.

“There are many incidents during a match. You are talking about Gyamfi; maybe he didn’t make the right decision” he said

“We are not saying we agree with his actions; he is even the first to recognize that it was a bad moment but these things don’t happen unprovoked” he added

“Maybe all the frames were not shown; maybe someone kicked him or slid him, we don’t know. Because you are only talking about the frame Gyamfi did something wrong”

“It is okay, he is a human being but maybe he was provoked by then” he concluded.
