    History was made yesterday as 91,553 fans gathered at Camp Nou for Barcelona Women’s  UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture against Real Madrid with that being the biggest number to experience Women’s football.

    The Catalans won last weeks first leg game by 2-0, they again impressed the home supporters that cheered them on yesterday with an emphatic 5-2 against real Madrid Femine to proceed to the semi-finals.

    Yesterday’s El Classico record surpass the existing mark for women’s club football match, the last was set in 2019 with 60,739 people viewing Madrid verses Barcelona at the stadium Metropolitano.

    After a rainy start to the day in Barcelona, the weather improved before and during the match. Thousands of people, including a considerable number of women and children, waved their flags and scarves cheering the Blaugrana on their arrival at the stadium, encouraging the players with chants and creating a real atmosphere. Real Madrid were greeted with deafening whistles.

    Although there were several activities organized around Camp Nou, the fans waited in line from early in the evening to enter the stadium.

    They will face either Arsenal or Wolfsburg for a place in the final.
