The executive council of the Ghana Football Association have suspended Ashanti Gold with immediate effect under Article 12(1) of the GFA statutes. The unanimous decision was as a result of AshantiGold SC  dealing with banned officials Kwaku Frimpong and Emmanuel Frimpong, which constitutes severe violations of FIFA and GFA statutes. Former Ghana Premier League champions AshantiGold were demoted to Division Two after being found guilty of match-fixing. CAF have announced officials for the Confederations cup second round matches to be played next month. Veteran referee, Bakary Papa Gassama, will take charge of the game between As Bamako of Mali and Accra Hearts of Oak of Ghana. The last time  Bakary Papa Gassama officiated a Hearts of Oak match was in 2015 when hearts drew one-all with Esperance in the last qualifying round of the CAF confederations cup. New Asante Kotoko midfielder, Serge Zeze was adjudged as the Nasco player of the match in the team’s 2:1 victory over Nsoatreman FC. The former Asec Mimosa man put up a splendid performance to help Asante Kotoko earn their first win of the season.  The porcupine warriors drew in their opening encounter against bitter rivals, Hearts of Oak. Coach Boadu was relieved off his duties as head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak yesterday after long meeting with the club board. Samuel Boadu brought a lot of success to the club in his two-season stay, having won them five trophies. The club in the official release indicated that the board feels this is the right time to take a new direction. The former youth international for Germany, switched allegiances to Ghana with other players of Ghanaian decent like Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey. The Black Stars returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Nicaragua. Issahaku’s 35th-minute strike was enough to secure Ghana the win. Head Coach Otto Addo made some notable changes to the team that lost 3-0 against Brazil on last Friday. Salisu and Inaki Williams were handed their first starts as Black Stars players. The agreement was reached after a long meeting between the coach and the board chairman of the club, Togbe Afede. Ghana will be represented by students from Offinso College of education JHS and Maakro M/A JHS in the maiden edition of the competition in Ivory Coast. The two schools were crowned winners of the U-16 inter school-based competition held from July 19th to Saturday July 23rd in the Ashanti region, Kumasi. The two schools will represent Ghana and compete for a place to participate in the first ever CAF African Schools Championship.
