The Black Stars of Ghana will open camp in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 ahead of the 33rd edition to the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations – Cameroon 2022. Algeria FA President has confirmed an agreed pre-AFCON friendly with the Black Stars in January in Doha, Qatar. The match will propel Black Stars ahead of their preparation for the  2021 Africa Cup of Nations next month in Cameroon. Ghana will play another friendly before departing for Cameroon for the tournament. Algeria have recorded 33 unbeaten matches in all competitions and clear favorites to defend their AFCON title. National Sports Authority has set aside December 18 to 26 for maintenance work at the Accra Sports Stadium. The NSA have ordered the Ghana Football Association to postpone the Premier League games to be held at the venue on the said dates, their statement indicated the closure is to enable the NSA and Ministry of Youth and Sports to have enough and uninterrupted time to fix critical places of the stadium. Fifa has dismissed South Africa’s protest following the 1-0 defeat to the Black Stars in their World Cup qualifier in Cape Coast last month, with  SAFA keen on taking further steps. Fifa’s Disciplinary Committee concluded that the protest was not well filled and didn’t provide  further details.
