Asante Kotoko are currently considering terminating the contract of a new signing after discovering the player has an active injury that is affecting his level of play and performance.

The defender Thomas Pele was announced as a new signing five days ago, the club announced the player has signed a three-year contract with the club.

Asante Kotoko are however considering terminating his contract after discovering the player isn’t fully fit during the club’s pre-season preparations in Accra.

Thomas Pele who joined Asante Kotoko on a free transfer featured in the club’s friendly game against Panthers FC; a good opportunity for the technical team to asses the fitness level and performance of the player.

After the game, it was discovered that the player was not fit which was evident in the friendly game, as a result, the player has stopped training with the team as the club continues to investigate before making a final decision on the player’s future.

Sahara Football can confirm the player did not train with Asante Kotoko yesterday and today; our findings reveal the player is still at the hotel where the players lodge for their pre-season in Accra.
