Asante Kotoko defeated Berekum Chelsea 1-0 in kumasi to secure their  third straight victory

Asante Kotoko continues its positive momentum in the Ghana Premier League, securing a 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea on Monday evening for their third consecutive win.

This triumph elevated them to the 7th position on the league table with 19 points, placing them just five points behind the league leaders Aduana FC after completing 13 games.

The closely contested match, held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, saw both teams generating scoring opportunities.

However, it was Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala who emerged as the game-changer, scoring the decisive goal in the 40th minute.

Although Mukwala’s initial shot was mishit, his determination prevailed as he followed up on the ball, poking it into the net from close range.

Securing their third consecutive victory, Asante Kotoko is steadily recovering ground in the league. Their upcoming match against long-standing rivals Hearts of Oak poses a challenging test.

On the other hand, Berekum Chelsea maintains their 6th position with 20 points, holding a slim one-point advantage over Asante Kotoko.

Their focus now shifts to rebounding from this narrow defeat when they go head-to-head against Great Olympics in their upcoming fixture.
