    Asante Kotoko chief Dr Kwame Kyei relieves off $1.5 million debt

    Executive Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei has agreed to write off the debt of $1.5million owed him by the club, as reported by Kumasi-based Nhyria FM.



    Dr Kwame Kyei presented his financial report to Manhyia which revealed a debt of $1.5million accrued during the three years he has been in charge of the club.

    The Executive Board Chairman after meeting the Professor Lydia Nkansah committee has relieved the club from paying the said amount.

    His tenure has seen Asante Kotoko compete in Africa club competition where they reached the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2018 under coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor.

    As at 8th May,2020,per the financial report presented to @ManhyiaPalace by @AsanteKotoko_SC Board Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei,Unity Oil Company Ltd was owed by the club to the tune of Gh 7,537,995.00.     Kotoko won the 2017 MTN FA Cup and the Tier 1 Special Competition which they qualified to play in the CAF Champions League group stage.
