Asante Kotoko is reportedly deep in discussions with their former midfielder, Abdul Fatawu Safiu, aiming for his potential comeback to the team.

Local media sources indicate that the Porcupine Warriors are keen on finalizing the agreement before the end of the upcoming transfer window.

Back in 2018, Safiu was instrumental for Kotoko, notably helping them advance to the profitable stages of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019.

Following his impactful stint with Kotoko, he moved to Sweden’s Trelleborgs FF for a couple of years and later had a brief spell with Trollhättan.

Recently, Safiu represented the Iraqi premier team, Al Sinaa SC. However, he has been a free agent since the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

There are indications that Safiu and Kotoko are in serious talks, suggesting a probable reunion if terms are agreed upon.

Additionally, Kotoko is showing interest in Emmanuel Kotei, a talented right-back from Nsoatreman FC.

Clearly, Kotoko is on a mission to bolster their roster for the upcoming season, and supporters are eager to witness the impact of these potential signings.
