Arsenal boss Arteta gives update on Thomas Partey’s injury

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta gave a brief update on Thomas Partey after the midfielder was substituted in Arsenal’s 3-0 loss against Aston Villa on Sunday night at the Emirates Stadium.

Thomas Partey was replaced at half time against Aston Villa, and Mikel Arteta was asked for an update on him after the match.

“We don’t know [the extent] of it,” Arteta said. “We have to scan him tomorrow or the day after and see what he felt straight away. Let’s wait and see what the magnitude of the injury is.

“I don’t know [if he will go away with Ghana now]. As I said, the doctor will have to have a look at him and probably scan him. Then we will decide what to do with him.”

Ghana will have to wait to get an official update from Arsenal concerning the situation, and possibly search for a replacement before the Sudan game on Thursday.
