Ampem Darkoa Ladies coach Nana Adarkwa appointed coach of Black Maidens

Nana Joe Adarkwa, the coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, has been appointed as the new head coach of Ghana’s U17 women’s national team.

Assisting him will be Basiru-Deen Sumani, the coach of Northern Ladies, while Osei Boateng, a former Asante Kotoko and Ghana goalkeeper, will serve as the goalkeepers’ trainer.

Adarkwa, who led Ampem Darkoa Ladies to victory in the Ghana Women’s Premier League and the Women’s FA Cup last season, replaces Baba Nuhu, who previously served as the assistant coach of the Black Princesses.

The decision to appoint Adarkwa was made by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association as part of changes to the coaching staff of various national teams.

Adarkwa’s nomination for the Best Club Women’s Coach award at last year’s CAF Awards underscores his achievements, although the award ultimately went to Jerry Tshabalala of Mamelodi Sundowns.
