Fenerbahce new boy Alexander Djiku excited to have made his debut for the Turkish giants following his transfer from French Ligue 1 side Racing Strasbourg this summer.

During a pre-season friendly match against Azerbaijani team Neftci Baku in St Petersburg, Russia, the Black Stars centre-back had his first appearance for his new club.

While Djiku did not start the match in Russia on Saturday morning, he came on in the 81st minute, replacing Serdar Aziz, and got his first minutes on the pitch for his new team.

After the game, Djiku expressed his happiness on Twitter, saying, “Very happy to have played my first minutes under my new colors @Fenerbahce 🟡🔵.”

In the end, Fenerbahce secured a 1-0 victory against Neftci Baku, with the goal scored by the legendary striker from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Dzeko, who also joined the club this summer.
