Ajax coach Maurice Steijn has given an update on the transfer of Ghana International Mohammed Kudus’ move to English Premier League side Brighton.

The 23-year-old was on the verge of joining Brighton, but the player and the English club have yet to agree on personal terms.

According to various reports, the two parties were unable to come to an agreement on a “release clause” option in the player’s contract, resulting in the delay of the deal.

Speaking to the press about Ajax’s league game of the season, Maurice Steijn insists he’s happy Mohammed Kudus is available and could feature in the game.

“I can confirm that Kudus can play tomorrow” Steijn said

“There are things happening around him but nothing concrete happened in the end. I’m very happy that he’s with us tomorrow” he added.

Mohammed Kudus is reportedly keen on leaving Ajax this summer and has rejected a contract renewal proposal from Ajax.
