Former Asante Kotoko striker Osman Ibrahim says he has been in pain for more than a year now after he suffered an ACL injury while on loan at King Faisal.

The 24-year-old suffered an ACL injury while on loan at King Faisal but was not attended to after he returned to his parent club Asante Kotoko in August 2022, the player received no treatment until his contract expired at the club in July 2023.

Osman Ibrahim who joined Asante Kotoko back in 2018 found it difficult to settle in the club and has been on loan to King Faisal on two occasions (2019/20 and 2021/22 seasons) where he scored a total of 14 goals and registered 5 assists in 29 games compared to the one league goal he has for Asante Kotoko in 13 league appearances.

The player returned to Asante Kotoko following the truncation of the 2019/20 Ghana Football season after scoring 8 goals and registering 3 assists in 14 appearances for King Faisal on loan, hoping to make his mark at his parent club.

After scoring for Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup against Noahdhibou FC in Mauritania, Osman Ibrahim believed he had finally made a breakthrough. However, he was hit by an injury soon after his first league goal for Kotoko and was sent out on loan after he recovered.

Osman Ibrahim went on loan once again for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season where he scored 6 goals and registered 2 assists in 25 appearances for the club.

“When I came back from my loan, I contacted our (Kotoko) doctors and told them I had this injury and I am still feeling the pain and they should do something. They contacted the doctors of King Faisal and I don’t know what they talked about” Osman Ibrahim revealed

The player revealed he had an MRI scan and the results revealed he had an ACL injury.

“I contacted Nana Yaw Amponsah after the results came in and told him about the situation and he told me the club was about to leave for pre-season in Sudan and he will know what to do when they return,” Osman said.

“When they returned, I reminded him of the situation and told him to alert the club to help me but he told me that ‘pressure was on him’. He didn’t give me an explanation whenever I contacted him until one day, he blocked me”

“Everyone at the club knows what I am going through, everyone; Emmanuel Dasoberi and the others, they are all aware and they decided not to help and I don’t know why”

“Frankly speaking, I need help badly because I have no one. People Think I have traveled out of the country but I am in my house, I didn’t go anywhere” he added

Osman Ibrahim has not played for Kotoko since his return in August 2022. He claims that he didn’t receive any support from the club until his contract expired in July 2023.
