Head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has admitted Ghana must do everything possible to win against Central African Republic

Chris Hughton, the coach of the Black Stars, has highlighted the importance of strategic planning to secure a victory in Ghana’s final match against the Central African Republic in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Hughton expressed his disappointment following the team’s recent draw in the second-to-last qualifier against Madagascar in Antananarivo.

In a post-match interview, Hughton expressed his determination to approach the final match of the qualifiers in Group E with a mindset focused on winning.

The coach emphasized the significance of playing at home and acknowledged the potential consequences if they fail to secure a victory.

“Our objective for the next match is to come out on top. We will be playing at home, and we understand the importance of winning.”

“We are well aware of the implications if we do not succeed. We will be fully prepared for the game in September. Our mindset is geared towards winning the game against Madagascar,” stated Hughton.

Currently leading Group E with 9 points, Ghana maintains a favorable position in the qualifiers.

However, the coach remains mindful of the stiff competition from Angola and the Central African Republic, who closely trail with 8 and 7 points, respectively.

As Ghana prepares for their crucial match against the Central African Republic, Hughton and his team are focused on their ultimate goal: securing a victory and advancing to the 2023 AFCON tournament.

The coach’s determination reflects the team’s commitment to delivering a strong performance in front of their home crowd.
