The Ghana Black Stars kicked off their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations campaign on a bad note after losing narrowly to Morocco in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Soufiane Boufal scored the only goal to hand Milovan Rajevac’s boys a disappointing start in the tournament.

Ghana started the game slowly and created few chances in the first half of the game; the Black Stars attack failed to trouble the Moroccans.

Joseph Paintsil had Ghana’s best effort at goal but the Morocco goalkeeper pulled a wonderful save to deny his curler from outside the box.

Soufiane Boufal broke the dead luck a few minutes to the end of the game after taking advantage of miscommunication in the Ghana defence to give his side the win.

Ghana will face Gabon in their next game and will be looking to bounce back from Monday’s defeat in Yaounde.
