Asante Kotoko are yet to reach an agreement with Abdul Ganiyu over contract extension as negotiations with the player’s representatives continue to stall.

Earlier reports suggested that Abdul Ganiyu have verbally agreed to renew but was working on a release clause with Asante Kotoko.

Sahara Football understands that there have been a setback and both parties are yet to reach an agreement.

A source close to the player reveals that the entire negotiation is very ‘complicated’ and Abdul Ganiyu has not signed any contract extension as of today.

When asked if Abdul Ganiyu’s camp have set a deadline for the club to make a decision, the source refused to comment.

Abdul Ganiyu’s contract will expire in October 2021 and will be free to leave the club if contract negotiations are not successful.
