In the Chinese Super League match held at the Wuhan Sports Centre, Ghanaian striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu put on an impressive performance, scoring two goals to lead Wuhan Three Towns to a 2-1 home victory against Meizhou Hakka on Sunday morning.

The 24-year-old player has been on a remarkable streak, netting a total of seven goals in his last five league games. In this particular match, he ensured Wuhan’s triumph by scoring both goals, securing a 2-1 win in the round 18 fixture.

Abdul-Aziz made a strong start by scoring the opening goal early in the match, thanks to an assist from Romania midfielder Nicolae Stanciu. He expertly fired the ball home from close range, giving the hosts an early lead.

Meizhou Hakka managed to draw level in the 17th minute, with Serbian defender Rade Dugalic scoring the equalizer, assisted by Chinese midfielder Wei Cui.

However, Abdul-Aziz’s brilliance was not to be denied, and in the 71st minute, he scored his second goal of the game to secure the victory for Wuhan.

This time, he skillfully headed the ball into the net, capitalizing on a beautifully delivered cross from former China international Dinghao Yan.

Since joining Wuhan from Portuguese club Rio Ave, Abdul-Aziz Yakubu has been in sensational form, scoring an impressive total of 12 goals in just 13 matches across all competitions.
