Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah has confirmed a 20-man squad to battle Ethiopia in the penultimate round of qualifiers to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Ayew brothers – Andre and Jordan – finally make a return to the Black Stars set up since their last appearance against Congo in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on September 1, 2017.

The duo excused themselves from a return clash in Brazzaville citing fitness and health challenges and have not received calls despite showing good form at club level.

Appiah has handed in-form midfielder Majeed Ashimeru a second chance to break into the first team in the trip to Addis Ababa. The 21-year-old first earned a late call-up to the senior national team in June 2017 but could not make the final squad for the international friendlies against Mexico and the USA.

Ghana will pitch camp in Kenyan town Navaisha from November 12 before flying into neighbouring Ethiopia for the crucial Afcon qualifier six days later.

The November 18 Ethiopia-Ghana clash comes off at the Addis Ababa national stadium.

Ethiopia are second in Group F of the 2019 Afcon qualifiers with four points after four matches while Ghana trail behind them with a point after playing only two games.
