Special Competition: Matchday 6 Results: Hearts, Ashgold lose, Elmina remain unbeaten


Here are the results for Matchday six of the Ghana Football Association Normalization Committee’s Special Competition.

Premier A

Medeama 1-0 Eleven Wonders



Medeama registered a very important result against a strong Eleven Wonders side on Sunday, Kalibo Dedy Toussaint’s late strike was enough to secure three points for his team.

Berekum Chelsea 1-0 Ashanti Gold

Berekum Chelsea rose above all odds to defeat Ashantigold at the Golden City Park. Kwame Amoako’s 70th-minute strike made sure they register their first win of the competition.

Bechem United 1-1 Aduana Stars



Bechem United were held at home by Aduana Stars. Emmanuel Owusu Boakye opened the scoring in the first half from the penalty spot, Sam Adams restored parity in the second half through a penalty kick.

 

Premier B

WAFA SC 3-2 Hearts Of Oak



WAFA were victorious against Hearts in Sogakope after registering another home win against the Accra giants. WAFA opened the scoring through Haruna Jamal in the 12th minute, Fatawu Mohammed restored parity minutes later with a brilliant lob finish. Daniel Lomotey restored the lead for WAFA in the opening minutes of the second half, Nii Bortey Acquaye scored their third before Christopher Bonney scored for Hearts through a late penalty kick.

Liberty Professionals 1-0 Dreams FC

Midfielder Simon Zibo’s first-half strike was enough to secure another three points for Liberty Professionals at home.

Elmina Sharks 2-0 Karela United

Elmina Sharks registered their second win in the Special Competition with a sound victory against Karela United, George Amonoo and Benjamin Tweneboah were the goalscorers.

Inter Allies 1-0 Ebusua Dwarfs



Ebusua Dwarfs suffered their fourth defeat in the Special Competition at Tema where they narrowly lost to Inter Allies thanks to Isaac Donkor’s first-half strike.
