Reason why Alexander Djiku and Thomas Partey are absent from Black Stars squad

Ghana Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku and midfielder Thomas Partey were omitted from the latest Ghana Black Stars squad for the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.

Alexander Djiku was asked to be excused from the squad due to personal reasons; the player reportedly needs time and space to sort out his future after he has been linked with several clubs and is still yet to renew his contract with Strasbourg. The player was replaced by Jonathan Mensah.

Thomas Partey misses out through injury the Arsenal man is not fully fit and Otto Addo doesn’t want to rush the player back into action. He is however expected to return to full fitness in few weeks.
