Patrick Twumasi’s goal propels Maccabi Netanya to Israel State Cup semis.

Ghanaian striker, Patrick Twumasi continued his magnificent  form as he scored the winning goal to send Maccabi Netanya through to the semi-finals of the Israel State Cup.

Twumasi has found the net in each of his last five matches. So far, his tally for the ongoing season is 8 goals in 18 appearances across  all competitions.

Twumasi’s goal last night ensured Netanya come from a goal down to defeat Maccabi Haifa in the quarter-finals of the State Cup.

Israel international midfielder Dia Saba put the  home side ahead in the 27th minute.

Netanya equalised just four minutes after the break  through Liran Rotman.

The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and  extra time was needed to determine which team to sail through to the next round of the cup competition.

Twumasi found the net in the 99th minute to ensure Netanya progress to the next round of the competition.

Netanya are hoping to win the Israel State Cup for the first time since 1978.
