You must accept the criticism – Dr Kwame Kyei to Kotoko players

Asante Kotoko Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei has urged the players to accept criticisms and backlash from the media and fans after the club’s elimination in the CAF Competitions.

The Porcupines exited from the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 on aggregate against FC San Pedro on Sunday in Ivory Coast.

The Asante Kotoko team and management are heavily criticized by the fans and media after they failed to make it to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Dr. Kyei believes that the fans were justified as he warns the players against responding to any hostile reception that may await their arrival.

“People may rain insults on you as you return to Ghana, but you should not be bothered because I, the Chairman, would not be spared either,” he said during an interaction with the players on Monday.

“A section of the media bashes me for good and bad reasons every day. Some of the claims are sometimes too extreme but i pick lessons from the positive ones as well. That has never derailed my focus.”

“You must accept criticism because every supporter of Kotoko has the right to be upset by what just happened”

“I urge you to focus on your careers and what you can do for the club rather than letting what the people say affect you. There have been times that people came to me to complain about why we won a match by only 1-0”
