Ghana FA EXCO to meet on Thursday to decide on next football season

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council will hold a meeting on Thursday to decide on the start of next football season following the cancellation of the 2019/20 campaign.

Football in Ghana has been on hold since a national ban on public gatherings, including sporting and religious events, came into effect as part of measures to curb spread of the coronavirus disease on March 15.

On Tuesday, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the complete cancellation of the 2019/20 season due to the coronavirus disruptions.

The campaign has been suspended since March 15. The Premier League was at the matchweek 15 stage when it was halted by the coronavirus crisis.

The 12-member council led by FA Kurt Okraku will converge again on Thursday to decide on when to restart the campaign.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold will represent the country at next season’s CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
