Mensah started all of Ghana’s matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, delivering consistent and reliable performances as a full back.
FC Köln  will rely on the valuable experience of Mensah from the Ligue 1 side Auxerre for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.
The 27-year-old began his career at WAFA, Ghana, before moving to Europe,  Red Bull Salzburg’s system (with loans at Sturm Graz, Zulte Waregem, Vitória Guimarães, and Bordeaux) before joining Auxerre permanently in 2022.
He has made over 100 appearances for the French club and earned nearly 40 caps for the Black Stars.

Both teams were eagerly on the lookout for three points, and it showed in how they lined up for the game.

Aduana controlled a chunk of the game with a 52 % possession and 12 shots compared to Kotoko’s four, which all failed to translate into goal bound opportunities.  

The visiting team failed to create anything meaningful to thwart the home team, Aduana Stars.

The draw sees Kotoko third on 43 points after 27 matches, while Aduana remain fifth on 42, both rueing their misses and opportunity to win the game.

Kotoko will be at home to Samartex, while Aduana Stars will travel within the region to face Berekum Chelsea next weekend.

The charges relate to incidents allegedly involving three different women between 2021 and 2022. According to the CPS, Partey has been charged with two counts of rape involving one woman, three counts of rape involving a second woman, and one count of sexual assault involving a third. He is expected to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 5 August.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, Partey dismissed all the allegations. “Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name,” she said, adding that Partey would not comment further due to ongoing legal proceedings.

Partey left the North London club following the expiration of his contract, with clubs like Barcelona, Juventus, and Saudi clubs trailing him.

The Black Galaxies failed to make their home superiority count as they drew goalless with their West African counterparts in Accra a fortnight ago.

The second leg in Uyo in of the CHAN qualifiers after playing out a goalless draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Nigeria scored three quick goals in a six-minute interval. Berekum Chelsea’s forward Stephen Amankona scored Ghana’s consolation goal in the 73rd minute.

Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-ud Dramani commended his opponents’ ambition in staking a win in the fiercest clash between the two footballing giants.

“They were full of running and played their hearts out. Congratulations to Nigeria because they deserved their victory. They were the better team” Dramani said according to Nigerian media outlet Premium Times.

Ghana missed out again in another qualifying campaign twice in two year after failing to make the previous one in 2022.
