Welcome to Sahara Football FPL Scout Picks for Gameweek 2. Outstanding Gameweek 1 performance , finishing off with 85 points, influences our Gameweek 2 picks with the same 3-4-3 formation.
David De Gea MNU (£5.5m):
The Spaniard is our selection in goal this Gameweek. He opened his season with a clean sheet against the Hammers last weekend, and is set for a potential clean sheet against a Swansea side without Sigurdsson who joined Everton yesterday.
Stephen Ward BUR (£4.1m):
The left-back was impressive last weekend against Chelsea with a beautiful goal, and with Burnley shutting their opponents several times on home turf last season, he gets the nod.
Sead Kolasinac ARS (£6.0m):
Arsenal’s big man gets on the team this week. He’s expected to play as LWB and should be a key FPL performer when the Gunners travel to bet365 Stadium. Stoke City has been barren upfront for a while.
Nicolas Otamendi MCI (£5.5m):
The City man makes up our 3-man defence this week. He got two bonus points last time out against Brighton and Hove Albion, and Everton haven’t really been an attacking team of recent.
Mohamed Salah LIV (£9.1m):
The Egyptian got to a good start after scoring and assisting on his debut. He ended gameweek 1 with 11 points and is the second most transferred in midfielder. The Palace defence will do more than enough to stop this man from penetrating and causing problems. Unlikely.
Ryan Fraser BOU (£5.5m):
Bournemouth host Watford who don’t travel well. We have got sights on a differential here, who should be a threat to the porous Hornets’ defence.
Christian Eriksen TOT (£9.5m):
The Dane had two FPL assists against Newcastle last time out, which increases his numbers to 38 since 2015/16 more than any other player. The creative midfielder can add to that and make Chelsea’s defence without the suspended Cahill have a long show.
Mesut Ozil ARS (£9.5m):
Arsenal may have scored four past Leicester last weekend without Ozil being involved, but still without the injured Alexis Sanchez, it’s really worth the take to have the German when The Gunners play Stoke. He had most assists in 2015/16 season, and should kick-start his season this weekend!
Christian Benteke CRY (£8.0m):
Crystal Palace travel to Anfield this weekend, where they have won twice in their last two visits. Palace may have been lifeless against newcomers Huddersfield, but we don’t think there would be a repeat this weekend, at least for the Belgian forward on Saturday against a leaky Reds defence.
Roberto Firmino LIV (£8.5m):
Liverpool vs Palace has always been a cracker with lots of goals. This weekend shouldn’t be an exception, that’s the reason our Gameweek 2 captain pick is the Brazilian Roberto Firmino who’s also on penalties for the Reds. He got 12 points last weekend against Watford, and should have an even better weekend against a weekened Palace team.
Romelu Lukaku MNU (£11.6m):
Manchester United man proved decisive last weekend in our selection as he was our Gameweek 1 captain. The former Everton man has scored 15 goals in his last 16 Premier League matches. United play away to Swansea which has been a shaky fixture in recent meetings, regardless, he should continue with his great form.
The deadline for Gameweek 2 is 11:30am, 19th of August 2017. Make your selections now.
